Blog-In For Trayvon Martin..

It seems every couple of months something is happening to a "minority" that gives us, the majority, a legitimate reason to rise up against the powers that be.

I can only hope by now, weeks after Trayvon Martin was MURDERED that you are all familiar with the story that has covered abc, msnbc, and every news station and website for the past 3 and a half weeks.

If not, Trayvon was a 17 year old Florida teen walking through his step-mothers gated community to go home after having walked to the store for a pack of skittles and a Arizona tea during the all-star game for his little brother. While walking home he was followed and shot in cold blood by 28 year old George Zimmerman. George was a part of the neighborhood watch and had contacted the local police to report Trayvon for "Suspicious Activity" George was instructed by the 911 operator to NOT follow Trayvon. Against these orders he followed Trayvon, confronted him, then shot him one time, point blank, in the chest.

You would ASSUME George was then arrested, charged, and placed in jail with NO bail as most people being charged with murder would be, yet George is walking the streets as a free man while a family and community has just lost a son. A brother. A friend.

To look at the two parties involved you automatically see another race driven act of violence, assuming Trayvon was a BLACK hoodlum in a hoodie, and George was a WHITE concerned citizen. BUT.. George is said to be of Latino decent. HOW can a Latino be racist against a BLACK? Easy. Racisim is not exclusive to white people in case you did not know this before.

Lets go back to 9/11 .. Every ethnicity in america was against anyone who even LOOKED like they could be of middle eastern descent. Be they black, white, hispanic, asian, it did NOT matter. A fear of middle eastern people was instilled in them from the actions of a few. So you see, ANYONE can be racist, all it takes is a disdain for people of a certain culture, background, or look.

Was George a Racist? I do not know. An over zealous disturbed man, I can conclude he must be.

Though Georges actions are appalling, I find that I am even more upset with the Sanford police departments treatment of the case. The investigation was not thoroughly conducted. Had it been the police would of known that he had been charged with assaulting an officer in 05, been reported by neighbors for taking his role as a Neighborhood watchmen too seriously, and had been accused of domestic violence by a former girlfriend. Had they investigated the 911 call he had made where he was told to NOT follow or the calls between Trayvon and his girlfriend at the time he was being followed they would of seen through his claim of “Self Defense”.

If they simply LOOKED at the stature of this svelte 17 year old BOY ON FOOT against this rotund 28 year old MAN IN A CAR. The pocket concealing candy vs the pocket carrying a loaded gun. Where was a need to defend himself?

This was simply a man making a decision to kill a child of a certain skin tone and attire that he had a hatred for. George is not justified. He is not insane. He is a KILLER.

I don’t care what Trayvon Martin was wearing or what color his skin was, passing discrimination based on looks alone is intolerable to me.

I understand stereo-types exist and they will continue to, so if someone wants to choose their friends, neighborhood, job, etc based upon what they FEEL is the way the type of people they want to surround themselves with should LOOK, so be it. But to kill someone off those assumptions that their skin tone and attire automatically places them into a stereo types category is OUT OF POCKET! Period!

The fact that George Zimmerman is still walking the streets as a free man is absurd. To SCREAM for JUSTICE sign the Petition:

“Prosecute the killer of our son, 17-year-old Trayvon Martin”.

WeCraveMusic: Stalley 330

Stalley330.com is the blog.

"Savage Journey to the American Dream" is the mixtape.

I've been checking daily as if the 30th will arrive early. Ive been on Stalleys line for about a year now. His sound and content is right up the alley of how I like my rappers.. rapping. Then his look gives me philly beard meets 90s cali skater sealed in lightskin while his early 90s, think "conscious" rappers, flow is delivered from a slight gapped smirk.

Though he is not quiet a conscious rapper his content is far from what the masses on the airwaves are displaying. Its no ass clapping talking about all the cars and jewels and the endless parties and endless buffet of broads at their disposal music. He speaks on his real life experiences.
A Ohio native he is putting the midwest on the map having signed to RickRoss|MaybachMusic and making a splash with his mixtape

Produced by Chad Hugo, the Block Beattaz and Soundtrakk I'm anticipating the release of this next mixtape. 11 days to go..

WeCraveNewness: Just "Take a #"

I found this video in the WeCraveMusic gmail account and almost passed it up as I was not expecting a email, and did not know the addy it came from. But I opened it and I'm glad I did.

New Pop artist Baiyu is a chinese-american transplant. Having moved to the states with her family in the early 90s she graduated from Princeton University in 2008 with a degree in Sociology. While attending college she was a member of the Black Arts Dance Company and a vocalist for the University’s Jazz Ensemble.. She released her first EP "B-Side" in 2010. The EP received a fair amount of buzz and made her a recognized name amongst the real curators of music.

Having now released her second EP "Fan Fair" she is quoted as saying
"Why is it called Fan Fair you ask? Well, it's because this album is really for you... the one that's stuck by me through thick and thin, and told me that I could do anything I set my heart out to do. You're the one that pushed me to create, to be inspired and to be inspiring. Therefore, my thank you comes in the form of song, and these songs are made for your pure, unadulterated enjoyment."

Here is the video for the lead single off the EP
"Take a Number"

Besides the fact that she recorded this EP strictly for those who put her in a position to live out her passions she also is giving all the proceeds toJapanese Aid Relief Organizations to help those affected by the tsunami and earthquake last year. So though she is talented she is also kind hearted.
I advice that everyone go download her new EP and give what they can if they can. Otherwise just enjoy the music and be sure to follow where Baiyu is going because she is defiantly making her way to the top.

WeCraveNewness: You down for a EURO-TRIP?

I recently had the  chance to meet a couple talented cats out of the Bronx while attending a show with my boy Willie B. (Shout out to Willie B aka @LetsGoWillieTDE and his latest moves and upcoming ones) I digress; so Willie introduced me to a couple talented cats and after the evening had ended I followed Euro ( @iameuroleague ) on twitter from my personal account ( @JessieMarieHere ) and inquired about getting him on the new radio show "The Vantage Point W/ Hustle&Flow" I co-host every Thursday 6-8pm est on www.damatrixstudios.com. Then he sent me a few exclusives off his now released mixtape..

Euros sound is actually very unique in the beats and production he uses. The songs really do take you on a trip as some of the beats and intros are very hypnotic and entrancing. The opening track "Dreaming in NYC" is a perfect way of introducing you to the mixtape.

Then to boot his content is very refreshing its not all let me bag bitches and act a fool with my niccas while talking about things I don't really have. Its not the typical club music.

He is painting lyrical stories and self portraits through verses and hooks. The mood EuroTrip sets is very calm, cool, and collected. It gives you time to think but also gives you things to think about. With tracks like "Drop Dead Era" and "Mold The Nation" he is showing that he wants to be a positive image by speaking on REAL topics.

Then he lets you a little deeper into his world and personal thoughts on songs like "Beautiful Ignorance", "Promises" and "EuroTrip"
All in all the mixtape is a beyond solid.. it plays like an album. The detail to it and the cohesiveness you literally hear a story unfold. Though you would expect songs about traveling the world and etc what I hear is someone who is working towards earning that stature that allows him to travel the world.
Euro will be on The Vantage Point W/ Hustle&Flow this Thursday the 15th to discuss the mixtape. Tune in for that on Damatrixstudios.com 6-8pm est.

Toujours De L'Argent.. Lease a Beat

My boy Money Alwayz aka M.A. has been on his production tip HEAVY. Making hits for people all over THE BAY he is giving the WORLD a chance to get beats from him while hes still in a position to sell them for the low low.

Lease 4 Cheap: Vol III was released March 6th.

M.A. is a true lover of the art that is music and wants anyone with the talent to make music to have access to beats that will compliment their sound.
So he has been releasing beat tapes where you can LEASE a BEAT for $25. Should you want to purchase the beat that can be arranged as well. The option of leasing tho is giving you access to a quality beat for a frugal price. Id suggest any ARTIST serious about their craft check this man out and hook yourself up.
